Photography editing

So I was perusing my friend Amy's blog, Artistically Amy, and found a link to a tutorial on converting photos to Black and White with color for GIMP, the editing program that I use, so I decided to try it out. I did three pictures. What do you guys think?

  1. OOh, Maria, I love these! Especially the first one. The selective color is subtle, and doesn't take away the focus from the cow's face.

You should add your link to the list! http://purple-hippie.blogspot.com/2011/01/color-splash-sunday-disney-lollipop.html. Click the little blue button that says "Add Your Link," and use the permalink to this post.

  2. Thanks Amy! I'm glad I found the link to the tutorial since I have always wondered how to do selective coloring, and it was really fun to do.

And thanks for the feedback, I wasn't sure if they were in the ballpark or not.

  5. Yeah, the little boy I took with my cell phone, and was just the first one that I did. I like how the bull turned out too, he was such a camera ham for me.

  6. I love the pop of color in black and white photos. We just had Logan's pics taken and I really wanted something like this done, but our photographer sucked and we are lucky to have any decent photos! How did you create these?

  7. Michelle, I use the photo editing program GIMP, which is freeware(free software from the internet, no licensing fee, open source, etc...) and following these instructions
